About Us

We all know how important physical fitness is, but we often struggle with finding the motivation or time to engage in physical activity. The team at Racquet Play don’t have that problem. We love working out daily with racquet play, and we’re on a mission to pass that love on to you with this website.

There are many games that can come under the umbrella of racquet play, some much more popular than others. Studies have shown that people are more likely to make exercise a habit if they participate in an activity they love. Which is why adding a social aspect to your exercise is beneficial. Racquet play is excellent for that.

Our Story

The team at Racquet Play wants to encourage you to be the best that you can be, and we know that physical exercise can be the easiest way to get all those steps in, with a cardio workout thrown in for fun. We’ve gathered together a small mountain of information to help you decide which game might be the perfect one for you.

For each category, we’ve added a bit of history of the game to increase your knowledge of the origins of each game. For example, did you know that pickleball was invented in the 1960s? It was designed to be a hybrid of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It can be played with 2 or 4 people using short wooden paddles, a net, and a perforated ball.

Along with the history of each game, we’ve listed the rules to each. Although the rules may seem obvious, it’s not until you begin to play a game that you understand them completely. We’ve also given you some information about the court the game is played on.

We’ve added a section about the equipment you’re going to need for your racquet play. Often this equipment can be hired, but if you intend to play regularly, you might want to splash out on your own gear. Usually, all this involves is racquets, balls, paddles, and sometimes safety pads.

Our Promise

At Racquet Play, we want to help you get the most out of your racquet play experience. Whether your game is racquetball, platform tennis, pickleball, tennis, or squash, we know you’re going to love your new sport.

Gather your friends together and head to the court. Or even make yourself a court in your backyard – we can show you how. And once you’re feeling confident that you’ve mastered your chosen game, take a look at the Tournament and Events section.

The team at Racquet Play knows that once you get started, you’ll be hooked. We’ll keep you updated with new events in your area, new courts that have opened, and any new equipment that may be available to hire or buy.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about any of the games we’ve mentioned, or racquet play in general, get in touch. We’d love to help.
